Projected release dates: 8/5/24-8/9/24. Subject to change.

Merge duplicate customer profiles

A new customer profile management tool in the Backoffice will provide a new way for users to merge duplicate profiles in the Backoffice.

This feature includes two new actions on the Customers page in the Backoffice:

  • Clean up duplicate profiles - Multiple customer profiles and use profile data to identify suggested customer profiles that can be merged.

  • View cleanup history - See a record of profiles that have been merged over time.

Users will also be able to quickly merge profiles in bulk. Dutchie POS analyzes each duplicate & provides a recommendation for which profile to keep. When bulk merging, the system will keep the suggested profile. Learn more about merging duplicate customers in the Help Center.

Restrict products by customer type

This feature was previously announced in June but was not released as originally planned, and has been modified to allow for package-specific restrictions. It is now slated for release on or around August 7.

To provide greater flexibility and better support dual-license operators in certain states, The existing Medical customer only option in the Catalog and Inventory will be replaced with a new Available for setting that allows you to restrict products to specific customer types.

At the Catalog level

Products currently set to Medical customers only = Yes will become Available for all your enabled medical customer types (Medical, Medical - out of state, Medical - underage, etc.).

Products currently set to Medical customers only = No will become Available for all customer types.

When creating new products, the Available for setting will be required, and users must select at least one customer type.

At the Inventory level

Packages currently set to Medical patients only = Yes will become Available for all your enabled medical customer types (Medical, Medical - out of state, Medical - underage, etc.).

Packages currently set to Medical patients only = No will become Available for all customer types.

When receiving new inventory, packages will inherit the Catalog-level Available for setting by default, but you can override the default and choose a different setting for individual packages.

At the product category level

This option will also be added to product category settings (Products > Configure > Categories), allowing you to configure customer-type restrictions for all products in a category. Category-level settings will default to Available for = All customer types.

If you change the customer-type restrictions at the category level, the same changes will applied to all associated products, and a confirmation message will appear before saving changes.

If you change a product’s category assignment, the product will inherit its new category’s customer-type restrictions, even if it previously had its own restrictions.

To maintain product-specific restrictions after changing a product’s category assignment or the category-level restrictions, you will need to manually change the Available for settings at the product level.

Show med/rec transaction type on receipts

This update was previously released for Ohio only but is now available in all markets.

A new option in Settings > Receipts in the Header settings section will allow you to Show transaction type (medical, recreational, etc.) on your receipts.

Expanded printer language support

This update was previously announced in June and was released to a limited group of customers. It is now planned for general availability next week.

We’re improving our connections to printers through enhanced printer language support, which can help resolve cash drawer and receipt printer issues. Users will have the option to specify a printer type when configuring or editing printers in Settings > Devices in the Backoffice. The recommended settings are:

  • For Epson receipt printers, select Epson

  • For Star mC-Print3 receipt printers, select Star print

  • For Star TSP100/TSP143 receipt printers, select Star graphic

  • For Zebra label printers, select ZPL

  • For other printer brands, select PDF

Multi-location payments reporting update

As part of our rigorous testing process, we discovered errors in the multi-location payments reports that we announced last week. These errors could potentially impact the accuracy of the data you rely on for your business decisions. Out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to delay the launch of this feature. We expect to resolve these errors and release this reporting enhancement within the next two weeks.

Fixes

This release addresses rounding issues affecting the Closing report and certain percent-off discounts.
