Dutchie POS: Structured merchandising rules in Register Co-Pilot, new transaction rounding options, show customer ID on Register cards, fixes, and more
Here’s what’s new and coming soon to Dutchie POS. Subject to change.
Enhancements
Register Co-Pilot
Register Co-Pilot now gives retailers more control over the product recommendations budtenders see at the Register. Create structured recommendation rules to promote brands, categories, master categories, or products; prevent specific products from appearing on Co-Pilot cards; and add budtender notes that explain why a product is being suggested. Company defaults help keep recommendations consistent across locations, while store-level overrides let individual stores fine-tune their own rules. You can also set the order Co-Pilot uses to choose upsell suggestions, define an add-on price ceiling, and guide the tone of Co-Pilot cards with Store voice. These settings replace the previous free-text custom prompt, making recommendations more predictable and easier to manage. Learn more in the Help Center:
At stores running loyalty through Alpine IQ or Springbig, Register Co-Pilot now suggests redeeming an Alpine IQ or Springbig reward instead of only ever suggesting Dutchie loyalty.
Global Product Catalog
Selectively copy fields from the Global Product Catalog. Import specific fields from the Global Product Catalog into a product’s Online Details in Dutchie POS—giving you the speed of verified brand content without overwriting your custom menu details.
Pick & choose fields: Selectively copy the Online Title, Description, Category/Subcategory, or Images from linked brand catalog items.
Append or replace images: Choose whether brand photos overwrite existing product imagery or are added alongside them.
Safe, draft-first workflow: Linking a product won’t automatically update live fields—changes only apply when you review and click Save.
Flexible categorization: Manually select a subcategory if none is provided by the brand.
How it works
In Backoffice, go to Products > Catalog and select a linked product.
Open the Online Details tab.
Check the specific fields or image handling preference (Append or Replace) you want to apply.
Click Save.
This feature will initially be rolled out to a select group of customers, with a wide release to follow at a later date.
Settings
Additional rounding options: We’ve added three new rounding options for cash handling under Settings > Location:
Round Transactions to Nearest Quarter
Round Cash Change Up to Nearest Quarter
Round Transactions Up to Nearest Quarter
Products
Standardize lab result conversions with category default units of measure. Normalize potency and cannabinoid measurements across your catalog with category-level default units of measure. Instead of manually converting mismatched lab units—such as converting Metrc's mg/g into total milligrams or percentages—Dutchie POS can now automatically convert incoming lab data to match your configured category standards upon ingestion.
In Dutchie Backoffice, go to Products > Configure > Categories.
Select the category you want to configure (e.g., Flower, Edibles, or Concentrates).
Under the Lab Result Defaults section, select your preferred units of measure for each test field and save your changes.
Customers
Show or hide pronouns on customer profiles. Under Customers > Configure > Fields, the Pronoun field on customer profiles can now be configured to show, hide, or be required, instead of always showing.
‘Successful referrals’ attribute in segments. Incentivize and reward customers who refer other customers to your loyalty program by building a segment based on a number of successful referrals.
Display Customer ID on Register Cards. Configure guest list cards in Dutchie POS to show Customer IDs (Registers > Configure > Cards), making it faster to cross-reference profiles against printed pick tickets and streamline fulfillment.
Compliance
Connecticut: "no doctor provided" option in the Doctors picklist on a patient profile. When selected for a Medical – Out of State customer, the transaction is excluded from state PMP (CPMRS) reporting while continuing to post normally to BioTrack, supporting Connecticut's new out-of-state medical patient/caregiver registration process, where a certifying physician often isn't available. This option only applies narrowly to the out of state customer type and doesn't affect PMP reporting for any other patient.
Reporting
Correction to a previous announcement: an earlier release note said the End of Day Detail and Sales By Category reports were being deprecated. That decision has been reversed and both reports remain available as standalone reports.
More precise Workflow reporting. Percentage reporting in Workflow analytics will now show two decimal places instead of rounding down to a whole number, so small gains in campaign performance are visible instead of rounding away.
Fixes
We're releasing fixes for the following issues:
The Receive button could appear grayed out when trying to receive packages, and delivery time could post incorrectly.
The Brand field on a catalog product could appear greyed out and locked, preventing a new product from being saved.
Multiple Metrc plant tags could be assigned to a second batch.
Fulfillment orders could be priced differently than the standard cart for the same product (e.g., a $40 product pricing at $30).
A customer's loyalty tier status could appear null or blank.
At the register/cart level, tax-exempt rows could be recorded as charged tax instead of as an exemption, overstating tax collected for exempt or medical customers.
Importing lab results via Confident Cannabis could drop the entire potency panel when a location or category's cannabinoid unit of measure was set to milligrams or mg-per-serving.
Saving receipt layout settings could fail for any location that had never previously used the receipt designer.
BioTrack lab result QA status could go stale and stop updating when manually fetching labs.
An E-Commerce "Buy More, Save More" discount's top tier (e.g., "at least 3 items → $19 total") could apply its fixed total to the entire cart regardless of how many qualifying items it actually contained, undercharging the customer.
The Save button when editing a package could be noticeably slow to respond.
A received item's catalog assignment could change automatically to a different SKU than what was listed on the receive.
The Smart Tags "Quantity available" catalog attribute didn't reflect actual on-hand inventory, making it unusable for pricing or discount targeting.
Transaction History didn't sort by newest first.
E-Commerce menu discount badges and loyalty reward redemption could ignore a discount's actual validity window when a location's timezone didn't match the timezone the discount's dates were stored in.
The Cost of Goods Sold By Category report could massively understate inventory cost for Deli/weight-based categories.
The Require Manager PIN to change Identifier Fields setting could incorrectly prompt staff to enter a manager PIN to enter a customer's birth date for the first time instead of only when changing existing entries.
The Loyalty Aging report required the loyalty-accrual-view permission instead of the standard "View Marketing Reports" permission, and wasn't LSP-wide as intended.
Exporting Brands could be unavailable with the Actions menu greyed out while a Catalog dashboard was active.
Adding an exclusion to a Smart Tag during receiving could fail with an error.
Smart Tag exclusions ("Add to exclusion list") were broken fleet-wide following an unrelated security fix; this restores the expected behavior.
The vendor field didn't autopopulate on pending transfers.
The User Event Log could return no results due to a date-parsing error.
Exporting Strains (CSV or Excel) from Products > Strains returned a blank file, and more than 200 strains couldn't be printed even with a larger page size selected.
